Rachel’s Journey “
Ó 2002 An original Novel byAsia R. Cohen A Word from the Author
After the fashion of the “Dear Reader” remarks from Authors who knew they
had a small but intimate circle of educated and elite readers,
I feel compelled to speak
to you
before you begin—or continue your interrupted journey if you are back at this page of this book.
I’ve been saying this over and over in my head as I try to sleep since I started Page one of this little book!
The enemy has been battling me for the year that led up to this climatic solution, and no more so than yesterday or today,
but I would like to have
my final
farewell before I send this precious volume on its way. It’s way, as I continue
on in mine.
The evil in this book,
especially as opens in the first chapter is unvarnished, as
it continues, evil seems to be unpunished, even encouraged. Well, look around you,
Dear Reader, that is the way of the world we live in and it will
only be worse as the
times in which
these fictionalized events occur are in “the real world”. If you are a Christian already,
you may wonder why you should read this book? Well, it wasn’t written with you in mind, although your opinion matters
to me every bit as much!
This book was written to answer the questions of people who likewise have a sickening awareness of how rampant evil
is becoming, but they don’t see clearly that a just and loving GOD would tolerate it, if He really existed and if He
really existed if
He really cared!
Those are legitimate questions and they deserve answers that aren’t wrapped in Biblical enigmas.
This book has my name because it’s my own journey. I compressed the events
of the last year, including September 11th, I took my inner
turmoil, my rage, my doubts…
the
times I wondered if Heaven was empty and I wrote a book unlike anything I will
ever write again and I did it in a non-stop ten-day marathon!
Cleansed, with my own
shortcomings
identified and placed before the Throne in joy and gratitude, I submit
that everything happens with God’s permissive will that in the end it will show His
glory. The kind of buzz words I avoided in this
little book on the brink of Armageddon.
But
the kind of answers we can find for ourselves in an honest search.
That’s all that
I ask. I don’t pretend I have all the events in the right order, we
will all know that soon enough. The time for decision is here and if this little book is here and
when I’m gone, this is how I
viewed it: You make up your mind. But please, soon!
