Book #1 " The Death of Love is Haight "
1967

In the summer following the 1967 'Summer of Love' the Haight Ashbury is reeling from the clash of publicity, concerned politicians and carnal curiosity. The streets of San Francisco are clogged without of town  tourists in cars taking pictures, buying the same edition of the underground newspaper with different covers, and shaking their heads at the shocking freedom of Sodom and Gomorrah in the City by the Bay and stalked by a single madman who must induce the runaways and teeny-boppers to use drugs in order to punish them for the previous summer of freedom in lust and drugs - using an exotic Chinese herb that causes them to smile themselves to death!

When Norris Cheel, the Super-cop of Stanyon Street dies while apparently packaging the lethal drug for street use all Lieutenant Allen MacKendrie Hoag has to do is to keep quiet and his most outspoken critic-the man  who keeps alive the false  rumors that he killed his young wife in Los Angeles in 1957 will be silenced forever -leaving the mother of his illegitimate son Matthew in the clear - but can he live with himself when his gut tells him that Norris Cheel was murdered by Loraine Lovich?

Book #3  " The Nature of the Beast "
1976

Brother John Carbasian and his partner, ex-cop Allen MacKendrie Hoag return to the Streets of San Francisco to find and stop a murderer who is targeting the homeless and the broken in spirit! While Brother John and Al fight in their own way to save 21-year old Matthew Lovich from the cruel stain of his very public inheritance as the heir to the man who raised him as his own son, Samuel ‘The Snake” Lovich after his mother Loraine. Knowing she was pregnant by the dour Scotsman, Loraine married him to spite her grandfather’s intentions to steal the child away from her as much as to be free of the Scots man’s dour insistence on right and wrong!

Al finds himself tempted to ask that late summer ‘What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose the soul of his only son?’ as GOD and Brother John seem to be the only ones listening to him-his son certainly isn’t!
