~ The Books of the Old Testament in the order they were recorded *
with Messianic References An original compilation
. . Introduction .
There will come a day when all nations, peoples, and
tongues will stand before Messiah as your Judge 1 If you draw a breath, if you were ever born, you will one day stand before the throne of the Ancient of Days at the brink of eternity, before the One who is alone holy. 2 Who is He? Why does He have the
right the ability, to show you all the life that you have lived, by an exacting and holy measurement? Can He actually do that?
3 .
“ But I’m not Jewish “ You might protest when the fiery eyes
turn in your direction, and suddenly you are standing alone in front of images which you…and you alone…created
being flashed against an eternal backdrop which allows no excuses or selfish justifications as shielded the actions while
you were living them out, feeling isolated and alone. No longer.
Nor is anything hidden. All creation stands beside you or ahead of you, already separated into two groups.
“ So? “
He will ask and the whole of your life will be exposed, one scene at a time, no matter the embarrassment or the joys
or the sorrows. No thought will be left unrevealed, no action hidden, no motive left coated with palatable justification.
No one left to intercede because the one who would have been our Intercessor has become our Judge.
Shouldn’t you know who He is? Why you have come to this moment at the crossroads between mortal
death and Life, between eternal life in perpetual light and joy or in darkness and loss? 4 .
“ But I’m not Christian! “ You might protest.
“ I didn’t know all about that sin and judgment stuff! “
The Judge may well shake His head and say that it doesn’t matter. The Book lay open for all to read these last
centuries, and before that, all creation itself sand of Him. 5
You are without excuse. Without the Love you took for granted with the world that upheld you through your brief years
on God’s world. It was His to begin with, as we are. But to Whom do we belong, if not ourselves and
our needs and desires until death’s chill hand puts us into waiting for this moment? - The Jewish Messiah -
The entire Bible reveals Messiah in prophecy, in promise, in types and foreshadowing of spiritual realities. Although
Genesis is listed first, in both Hebrew and Christian resources, since
Genesis begins at the beginning of the created world but it is the Book of Job which shows the Almighty already in control
over a completed creation with angels worshiping before Him and lives being lived on the completed Earth below.Satan, already a long time adversary of God’s mortal creation on earth 6 has come before The Throne of God 7 and it is the Holy One who
challenges him to see His righteous servant Job 8. Satan
challenges God through Man, as he has since the creation of the first two human beings, and the challenge is accepted.
Through Job’s struggles he is stripped of everything that matters to him, from his family, his wealth, his means
for survival 9, finally his health 10, and even the reputation he maintained among his friends and acquaintances
11. When his closest friends unjustly accuse and condemn
him, righteous Job is brought face to face with the mighty GOD. No longer on His rightful throne of glory, surrounded with
the spontaneous and deserved adoration of angels, but in intimate contact with the wounded and grieving man whose been driven
to curse the very day he was born! 12 On
the ash heap, scraping boils with the edge of a broken piece of pottery, Job is able to say with confidence, “ For I
know that my redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. And though after my skin worms destroy
this body, yet in my flesh, I shall see GOD. [Hebrew: “ After I shall wake,
though this body be destroyed, yet out of my flesh I shall see God.”] 13
The One who speaks to Him in such power in Chapters 38 thought he first half of Chapter 41 is what could only have
been a rhetorical question between a grieved and bereaved man and his misunderstanding friends, gives no sign of being able
to die, that He might live again, and still be God! Or that a time would come which could be looked upon as ‘the latter
years’ … a separation between what was and what is to come, but Job’s heart knows the truth. As do we,
whether we admit it or not. We were designed to be creatures of praise of a worthy God. This is the first image man was given.
A personal God intimately involved with His creation even on its mortal level, who will answer a man Face-to-face as the powerful
creator 14, Ancient of Days 15, and Redeemer. 16
The same heart that could later tell Jeremiah “ For I know the thoughts that I have toward you, thoughts of peace
and not of evil, to give you an expected end [Hebrew: and end and expectation. i.e.
a hope and a future] 17
How then can we know Him? He tells us in His Word…
“ Then shall you call upon the Me and you shall go and pray unto Me, and I will hearken unto you. Then shall
you seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. “ Jeremiah 29:12,13 - - - Footnotes: - 1 Thessalonians 1:10
